Law enforcement leaders in Albuquerque, New Mexico are rolling their eyes at the latest ridiculous move from the state’s Democratic governor. Governor Lujan Grisham, in her infinite wisdom, has decided to ban citizens from carrying firearms because apparently she thinks she knows better than the Constitution. It’s enough to make any red-blooded conservative want to bang their head against the nearest wall.
The governor claims that the 30-day suspension on citizens’ right to carry is necessary after a series of shootings, including the tragic death of an 11-year-old boy outside a minor league baseball stadium. But let’s get one thing straight, taking away law-abiding citizens’ ability to defend themselves is not the answer. Criminals don’t exactly follow the law, so it’s unlikely they’ll be lining up to turn in their guns.
Thankfully, some law enforcement officials have the backbone to stand up against this tyrannical order. Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman boldly declared that he will not enforce something that blatantly violates citizens’ Second Amendment rights. Bravo, Mr. Bregman! It’s about time someone had the guts to defend the Constitution.
Sheriff John Allen also weighed in, expressing his concerns about the potential risks of preventing law-abiding citizens from exercising their constitutional right to self-defense. It’s refreshing to see law enforcement officials prioritize the safety and well-being of their communities over the whims of a power-hungry governor.
Of course, it didn’t take long for the National Association for Gun Rights to file a lawsuit against this unconstitutional order. It’s reassuring to know that there are organizations out there fighting for our rights amidst all this bureaucratic nonsense. But let’s not forget the real issue at hand here: Governor Grisham’s blatant disregard for the Constitution and the rights of New Mexicans.

Two lawmakers have even called for her impeachment, and they’re absolutely right. We can’t have politicians trampling all over our rights and getting away with it. It’s high time we hold them accountable for their actions. Governor Grisham’s order is not only an infringement on our Second Amendment rights, but it’s also a slap in the face to the oath she took to uphold the Constitution. This kind of unconstitutional overreach cannot be tolerated.
In the end, it’s clear that the citizens of Albuquerque and New Mexico deserve better than a governor who thinks she can strip away their rights with the stroke of a pen. We must remain vigilant and continue to fight for our freedoms. Do not let the left’s misguided attempts at gun control distract from the real issues at hand – the defense of our constitutional rights. It’s time to stand up and make our voices heard.
