Jon Stewart, the host of “The Daily Show,” is making a comeback after a nine-year hiatus. But let’s be honest, who really missed him? Not this writer, that’s for sure. Sure, he’s got talent, but his snarky sense of humor never quite hit the mark for me. Maybe it’s because I’m not in his target demographic, or maybe it’s just because his heavily partisan tone fell flat. It often felt like he was more interested in lecturing than making people laugh.

Stewart would be better suited sitting alongside Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, where they can smirk at each other knowingly and pretend to be above it all. Because let’s face it, that’s exactly what they would do.
Of course, it was no surprise that Stewart’s comeback included taking aim at former President Donald Trump. He poked fun at Trump’s indictments, his age, and even that infamous “grab the p” moment. But what caught people off guard was when he also went after President Joe Biden. Liberals went into a tizzy, unable to fathom that Stewart would dare criticize their beloved leader. But hey, everyone is subject to scrutiny, especially when you’re in the highest office in the land.
Stewart played a montage of clips showing administration members like Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Vice President Kamala Harris praising Biden’s brilliance and focus. But Stewart wasn’t buying it. He sarcastically asked if anyone had actually filmed Biden behind the scenes, because if he’s really as sharp and energetic as they claim, it would be great to have some evidence. Instead, all we get are TikToks of him mumbling and talking about his love for cookies. Not exactly presidential material, if you ask me.
And you can bet that Stewart’s criticism of Biden didn’t sit well with the left. They were quick to attack him, accusing him of wearing a “Donald Trump uniform” and questioning his loyalty. But let’s not forget, comedians should be free to mock all sides of the political spectrum. It’s a shame that late-night shows and SNL have become nothing more than whiny, unfunny, woke scolds who can’t muster the courage to make fun of Democrats and liberals.
Speaking of SNL, where’s the viral skit mocking Vice President Kamala Harris? Oh right, there isn’t one because they’re too afraid to tackle that comedic goldmine. But hey, at least Stewart had the guts to address the elephant in the room – Biden’s diminishing mental faculties. It may not make me a regular viewer of “The Daily Show,” but it’s refreshing to see someone in the entertainment industry finally speak up about it.
In the end, Stewart’s comeback may have caused a ruckus among the left, but for us conservatives, it’s just another example of the biased and narrow-minded comedy that dominates our screens. Thankfully, we can still count on the likes of Rob Schneider to remember the good old days when comedians weren’t afraid to push boundaries and make us laugh, even if it meant tearing up the Pope’s photo on live TV.
