Judge Cannon Unseals Docs Hinting Bias in Trump Probe

A federal judge named Aileen Cannon has decided to make public more court documents that could reveal aggressive actions by federal prosecutors against people who worked with former President Donald Trump. Some people are saying that this judge is trying to show everyone how the prosecutors may have done things that were not fair. Conservative legal expert Julie Kelly shared that Judge Cannon may be trying to show the public what really happened in this case.

The unsealed records could give more information about the accusations against prosecutor Jay Bratt, who started the investigation. Later on, the case was given to Special Counsel Jack Smith. Julie Kelly claimed that Bratt tried to pressure Stanley Woodward, who worked closely with Trump’s lawyer, into turning against Trump. Woodward apparently challenged these tactics in court, saying they were wrong.

Kelly believes that Judge Cannon wants people to see what really happened in this case. She thinks that the judge is on the side of being open about the situation. This judge, who was chosen by former President Trump, was in charge of a case involving classified papers found in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. However, she was not handling the criminal part of the case that was brought by the Justice Department.

Newly released documents show that U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland may have had a bigger role in the investigation than previously said. Critics say that Special Counsel Smith may have worked with the National Archives and Records Administration in a way that broke the law. Smith has faced some setbacks in the case, and some people think the whole case might be dropped or delayed, especially past the next election.

If the case does get dropped, Trump, if he wins the next election, could choose to end the case against himself. This situation shows that some people may have been unfair to Trump and his associates.
