In the latest episode of Democrat Soap Opera, Washington Post darling and Pulitzer Prize-winner Kathleen Parker is pitching a grand solution to President Joe Biden’s age and dwindling capabilities: slap Hillary Clinton on the 2024 ticket. Yes, you heard that right. Just when you thought the Democratic Party couldn’t be more of a circus, Parker rolls out the big top with the prospect of bringing Clinton back from political exile.
Parker’s piece came just before what many are now calling the ‘Biden Horror Pictures Show,’ where the President once again fumbled phrases and seemed lost at sea in his own thoughts. Her argument boils down to one simple idea: Kamala Harris is an electoral deadweight that the Democrats need to shed if they want a ghost of a chance against Donald Trump come November. Polls aren’t looking good for Harris – an unicorn in her own right. According to the latest Politico/Morning Consult poll, only 40 percent of voters believe she’d make a decent president, while a whopping 51 percent disagree. Not exactly a confidence booster, is it?
Even FiveThirtyEight’s average of polls shows Harris underwater, with a 49 percent disapproval rating to a paltry 39 percent approval. Not that Biden is faring much better; he’s got a 56 percent disapproval and a 38 percent approval. Yet, somehow, Parker thinks Hillary swooping in could calm the storm. You can’t make this stuff up, folks. Democrats are so desperate they’re willing to roll the dice on Hillary—yes, the same Hillary who couldn’t muster enough votes against Trump in 2016.
Biden, at 81 years old, is already the granddaddy of presidents, surpassing Reagan who left office at a spry 77. With 86 percent of Americans thinking he’s too old for a second term (according to an ABC News/Ipsos poll), Parker isn’t totally off-base in questioning his stamina. She notes Biden’s disturbing decline: his stumbles, mumbles, and blank stares. It’s a sad state of affairs, she says, but it’s not ageist to point out the obvious—Biden’s not exactly Benjamin Button.

So, what’s Parker’s band-aid solution? Throw Kamala a golden parachute in the form of Attorney General or some other highfalutin role and do a political undead resurrection of Clinton. The idea is that with Hillary standing by, voters who are rightfully wigged out by Biden’s fading faculties might find some solace. Yes, Hillary might grumble about being dragged out of semi-retirement, but Parker argues she’s a steady hand compared to Biden’s trembling one.
And let’s not forget, Clinton has been conveniently busy of late. Endorsing Westchester County Executive George Latimer against the Squad’s Rep. Jamaal Bowman shored up her centrist credentials. Plus, with a new book “Something Lost, Something Gained” conveniently hitting the shelves seven weeks before Election Day, Clinton is staged for a political comeback Shakespeare himself couldn’t script better.
So grab your popcorn, folks. The next few weeks could get wild. With Biden’s mental agility in question and Harris ticking off voters left and right, the Democrats might just pull the rabbit—or more accurately, the Clinton—out of their hat, setting the stage for a 2024 election drama like no other.
