In a recent Virginia state Senate session, things got spicy when Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears had a little oopsie moment that left the Democrats in a tizzy. The drama unfolded when Democratic state Sen. Danica Roem, who happens to be transgender, quizzed Earle-Sears about some numbers. The good ol’ lieutenant governor, being the polite Southern belle she is, referred to Roem as “sir.” Well, that set off a chain reaction of chaos, with Roem storming out like a drama queen and not one, but two recesses being called. Can’t make this stuff up, folks!

Well, after all the hubbub and with the tension thicker than grandma’s gravy, Earle-Sears finally caved and offered up a little apology. She made it clear that she was just tryin’ to do her darn job and give everyone the ol’ r-e-s-p-e-c-t, but hey, mistakes happen, right? She even threw in a little “we’re all equal under the law” line for good measure. And you know what? She even apologized not once, not twice, but thrice! Talk about bending over backward for those delicate Democratic feelings.
But oh boy, the Dems weren’t about to let this one go. They hopped onto their social media soapboxes to give Sears a good ol’ what-for, calling her behavior “disgusting” and “inexcusable.” Seems like they’re more focused on stirring up a Twitter storm than actually getting any work done. But hey, what’s new?
Looks like Lt. Gov. Earle-Sears found herself in the hot seat, but she handled it with grace and charm. Let’s hope the Democrats can take a page out of her book and just lighten up a bit. After all, forgiveness is divine, right?
