The legal battles of former President Donald Trump continued to make headlines on Monday. Several cases involving him were brought to court. In one instance, a judge in Florida denied a request by Special Counsel Jack Smith to seal a classified document.
The judge also set deadlines for the parties to argue about the conflicts of interest that the attorney for Trump's co-defendant might have.
Trump's defamation case against E. Jean Carroll took a turn when Judge Kaplan of New York dismissed his claim. The case is related to his comments made in 2019. It's a different case from another one called "Carroll II," which already went to trial.
Another case involving Trump is the case involving the 2020 presidential election, which is currently before Judge Chutkan in the District of Columbia. The Special Counsel is currently trying to prevent Trump from disclosing information that he might have received during the discovery process. Judge Chutkan has scheduled a hearing for Tuesday afternoon to discuss the protective order's status.
