Former President Donald Trump’s lead over President Joe Biden has surged ahead by an impressive five points, according to a recent CBS News poll. The survey, which asked 2,247 registered voters about their voting preferences, found that an overwhelming 52 percent would vote for Trump if the election were held today. In stark contrast, only 47 percent of voters said they would support Biden.
These new poll results are a significant improvement for Trump, especially when compared to a survey conducted by CBS News on July 3. At that time, Trump had the support of 50 percent of registered voters, while Biden trailed closely behind with 48 percent. It’s clear that Trump’s popularity is on the rise, leaving Biden in his wake.

In a surprising twist, the respondents were asked about their reaction to the recent assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania. Astonishingly, 26 percent of registered voters said they were actually more likely to vote for Trump after the incident, demonstrating their unwavering support for the former president. Only seven percent claimed they were less likely to consider voting for him. Meanwhile, the majority of respondents, 67 percent, stated that the assassination attempt had no impact on their decision.
Furthermore, the poll sought to measure the perception of unity in Trump’s response to the assassination attempt. A strong majority of voters, 54 percent to be exact, believe that Trump has actively advocated for more unity amidst the turmoil. On the other hand, 46 percent feel that his actions have promoted more division. This division is likely due to the biased mainstream media’s incessant attempts to create a false narrative of Trump’s presidency.
Despite the important strides Trump has made to promote unity, it seems the liberal media are reluctant to give him credit. One shocking example is his decision to entirely rewrite his speech for the Republican National Convention, specifically to call for more unity. Trump himself recently revealed this pivotal change in an interview with the Washington Examiner. Yet, the mainstream media continues to portray him as a divisive figure.
In conclusion, the CBS News poll is a testament to Trump’s enduring popularity among conservative Americans. With his lead over Biden increasing by five points, it is clear that the former president continues to resonate with the American people. While the mainstream media may try to diminish his achievements, Trump is determined to foster unity, regardless of their biased portrayal.
