Biden Admin and Media Push False Narrative on Economy Amid Struggles

The Biden administration and the liberal media are trying to sell the American people a false bill of goods on the state of the economy. They claim things are booming, but the reality is far from it. Most of the jobs being touted as new are actually just people returning to their pre-pandemic positions. The first quarter GDP report was dismal, and the stock market can no longer be trusted as an indicator of economic health. Despite the evidence, the media is pushing the narrative that everything is rosy, even going so far as to use the price of a fast food breakfast as proof of financial wellbeing.

Former Obama economic official Austan Goolsbee was brought in by MSNBC to explain away any confusion the American people might have about their supposed economic prosperity, all while millionaire host Stephanie Ruhle made light of the financial concerns of everyday Americans. The media has been accused of belittling and denying the economic struggles facing most Americans, dismissing any dissenting voices as ignorant or unworthy of consideration. The Democratic Party’s failure to address these economic challenges reflects a lack of empathy and a growing arrogance on the Left.

The comparison has been made to Jimmy Carter’s failed attempt to blame the economy on a national malaise in 1980. The Democrats are seemingly adopting a similar attitude, with one commentator sarcastically summarizing their economic plan as “Let them eat Wendy’s.” It is clear that the Biden administration and their allies in the media are out of touch with the economic realities facing everyday Americans, and it remains to be seen whether the public will buy into their spin come election time.
