In a show of unwavering support and faith, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson publicly endorsed former President Donald Trump for the highest office in the land during a rally in Sioux City, Iowa. But before taking the stage, Carson sought guidance from a higher power. He shared a picture on social media capturing a moment of prayer just before the announcement, stating, “Praying before making a big announcement for a very special friend.”

Carson, a devout Seventh-Day Adventist, has always been vocal about his religious beliefs, which were a prominent feature of media coverage during his campaign for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. When Trump secured the nomination and eventually won the presidency, he appointed Carson as HUD secretary, a position from which Carson continued to emphasize his faith.
Carson’s endorsement of Trump on Sunday was not only a testament to his religious convictions but also reflected his belief in the constitutional rights that safeguard American life. “As I stand here today, I want to offer my most confident and full endorsement of Donald J. Trump,” Carson proclaimed. He went on to highlight Trump’s unwavering support for freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to bear arms, stating that Trump is the person who can fix the country and make America great again.
Beyond his religious faith, Carson’s identity as both a black man and a conservative makes him a prime target of disdain for liberals. However, his challenging upbringing, raised by a single mother who instilled an indomitable work ethic in him, has only fueled his determination to achieve success. Carson’s accomplishments as a renowned surgeon, even having a TV movie made about him, dwarf the achievements of others in influential positions, like “Dr.” Jill Biden, whose Ed.D. pales in comparison.
Although Carson’s success and his belief in the potential of others to achieve the same make him an unlikely favorite among modern progressives, he remains unfazed by their scorn. In his own words, “Our nation is in desperate need of strong leadership. A President who fights for the American people, our freedoms, our safety, and our future.” This conviction led Carson to offer his full endorsement to Trump, a leader who aligns with his principles and values.
Carson’s unwavering faith in God and his commitment to the foundational principles of the United States were evident in his address, as he evoked a famous quote from Benjamin Franklin during the Constitutional Convention of 1787: “A republic, if you can keep it.” According to Carson, the way to preserve the republic is by re-electing Donald J. Trump as president. It’s not just Carson who believes in this message; countless millions of Americans resonate with his words and stand united in their support for Trump’s leadership.
