Former Florida Gators quarterback Jalen Kitna caught a break as he will no longer be facing child porn charges. In a plea deal, the 20-year-old, who happens to be the son of NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, admitted to two counts of disorderly conduct. This means he won’t be spending any time behind bars or registering as a sex offender. Ah, the perks of being an athlete!
Kitna was busted in November for sharing explicit images of child sexual abuse on his phone. Five felony charges were initially lined up against him, but thanks to his legal team’s maneuvering, he managed to dodge the bullet. His lawyers were quick to express their gratitude for the outcome, claiming it was the “right” one. Well, don’t they always think the outcome is “right” when it benefits their client?
The Florida Gators wasted no time suspending Kitna following his arrest. Of course, they had to distance themselves from such a scandal. The police tied Kitna to the disgusting images through a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Bravo to the authorities for catching this sick individual!
During a search of Kitna’s phone, the police discovered three additional child sexual abuse images that he had been hoarding for over a year. Seems like these images were quite valuable to him, considering he kept them around for so long. Disgusting.
The charges related to child sexual abuse were dropped as Kitna pleaded guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct. He received six months’ probation on each of the misdemeanor charges, but without a fine nor a requirement to register as a sex offender. https://t.co/AKkpMSjzvG

As expected, Kitna’s lawyers argued that their client had no clue that the girls in the images were underage. Yeah, right. We’ve heard that excuse a thousand times before. Somehow they always manage to play the oblivious card. In his statement to the court, Kitna apologized to his loved ones, but it’s hard to believe his sincerity. What’s truly difficult is seeing how it affected his family, not the fact that he engaged in such abhorrent behavior.
Kitna’s football career also took a hit as he got dropped from the Gators after only four games last year. Good riddance! Being barred from the University of Florida campus until November 2025 is just scratching the surface of the punishment he deserves. It’s laughable how athletes often get off easy, while regular, law-abiding citizens face harsher consequences for lesser crimes. It’s about time we hold these sports stars accountable for their heinous actions.
