A recent study from the U.K. is debunking the leftist myth that transgender children need to undergo social transition in order to feel better about themselves. The research, which was published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, analyzed 288 children from ages four to 17 who had been diagnosed with gender dysphoria. The study found that there was no significant difference in mental health outcomes between the children who underwent social transition and those who didn’t. Despite therapists’ advocating for social transition as a harmless and reversible way to explore gender identity while relieving the anguish of gender dysphoria, the study proves that this is not the case.
This new study analyzed hundreds of trans-identified kids attending the UK's Gender Identity Development Service: "Overall, there were no significant effects of social transition or name change on mental health status. Furthermore, the study found that nearly half of the natal females and males who underwent social transition were experiencing mood difficulties, and a large portion also struggled with anxiety and suicide attempts. This data proves that forcing children into social transition only exacerbates their preexisting mental health issues, and doesn’t solve them. While the study lacks longitudinal data on patients’ mental health before and after social transition, researchers couldn’t rule out the possibility that social transition was actually harming patients more than helping them.
This study provides clear evidence that the transgender agenda is more rooted in ideological activism and less about actual science and statistics. Therapists should be honest with their patients about the dangers of social transition, rather than promoting it as a harmless solution to gender dysphoria. It is time for the left to stop pushing their narrative and start valuing science and real data.
