Americans are increasingly concerned about the state of the U.S. economy and President Joe Biden’s ability to handle it. And who can blame them? Prices are skyrocketing, and everything is getting more expensive. It’s no wonder people are worried.

But it gets even worse for Biden. According to a new poll from the Wall Street Journal, only 39 percent of Americans have a favorable view of the president right now. Ouch! And it seems like people are not too confident in his ability to handle a crisis either, especially given his age. A whopping 73 percent of voters think Biden is too old to seek a second term. Even Democrats agree that it’s time for him to retire.
Now let’s talk about the other guy in the race: Donald J. Trump. Surprisingly, Trump and Biden are tied in a head-to-head match-up, each getting 46 percent of the vote. But here’s the kicker. While Biden may be more likable and honest (according to the poll), Trump is seen as having a record of accomplishments and a vision for the future. And let’s not forget that Trump is mentally up to the task of being president, according to 10 points more voters than those who think Biden is mentally up to it.
So, if it comes down to personality and likability, Biden might have the advantage. But if Americans are more concerned about the economy and accomplishments, Trump is the clear winner. Sorry, Joe. It looks like it’s still the economy that matters most in this race. And for Biden, that’s a problem.
Biden has been trying to paint a rosy picture of the economy with his so-called “Bidenomics.” But the reality is that Americans are feeling the pinch at the gas pump, the grocery store, and in their monthly bills. Inflation is out of control, and the Federal Reserve had to raise interest rates to combat it. That means it’s now even harder for Americans to afford big purchases like cars and homes, and credit card debt is on the rise.
Sure, Biden might brag about the 13 million jobs created since he took office. But what good are those jobs if the wages haven’t kept up with inflation? American families have lost thousands of dollars in spending power under Biden’s watch. And let’s not forget his age and competency. Can he even defend himself against these facts? It doesn’t seem like it.
So, as much as Biden might try to push his “Bidenomics,” the reality is that Americans are more worried about their wallets and their future. Sorry, Joe. It’s time to retire and let someone else handle the economy. Maybe someone with a better track record and a clearer vision for the future. Just saying.
