Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has made a stunning admission regarding the United States’ border situation. He revealed that there is an “urgent and pressing need” to construct a border wall in southern Texas and has issued an order to suspend some of the nation’s most revered environmental protection laws to expedite the construction. This is a shocking turnaround for the Biden administration, as the President himself pledged during his 2020 campaign that “there will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration.” It seems that promise has now been thrown out the window.
Mayorkas has identified several miles of the border where barriers and roads need to be constructed in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States. And to ensure the expeditious construction of these barriers and roads, he has decided to waive 26 federal laws, including the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. This move clearly shows that the Biden administration is willing to disregard the environment and its laws in the pursuit of their own agenda.
The hypocrisy of this decision is astounding. Democrats are always quick to champion environmental causes and claim to be the party that prioritizes protecting wildlife and nature. But when it comes to their open borders agenda, suddenly all those concerns go out the window. It’s disheartening to see President Biden stoop to this level and disregard our nation’s most fundamental environmental laws in order to construct ineffective border walls that kill wildlife. This is a terrible regression for the borderlands and a betrayal of the principles that the Democratic Party claims to stand for.

Furthermore, Mayorkas has contradicted President Biden’s own pledge by declaring his intention to construct miles of wall. This is yet another example of how this administration is failing to keep its promises and is just bending to the will of Congress. It’s clear that the Biden administration is more interested in appeasing the far-left factions of their party than actually implementing effective border security measures.
Border Patrol agents have repeatedly emphasized the importance of a wall along the border. They have stated that the wall aids in detecting border crossers by funneling them toward agents and allows for better surveillance and apprehension. Yet, the Biden administration seems to be ignoring their advice and prioritizing political optics over public safety. It’s time for them to put the security of our nation first and stop playing politics with our borders.
In conclusion, the Biden administration’s decision to construct a border wall in southern Texas and waive environmental protection laws is a clear betrayal of their own promises and a disregard for the well-being of our nation. It’s time for them to listen to the experts, prioritize border security, and stop playing politics with the safety of the American people.
