Bold GOP Move Seeks US Troops Home from Iraq – Find Out Why!

U.S. Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) and a few of his Republican buddies are like, “Hey, let’s get our troops out of Iraq ASAP!” Can you even believe it? There are still about 2,500 U.S. troops over there helping out the Iraqi forces. But Crane, who’s a former Navy Seal and fought in the Iraq War, thinks it’s time for our soldiers to come home and stay safe. He tweeted, “The U.S. military overthrew Saddam Hussein’s regime within 3 weeks of being in Iraq. There is no reason to risk the lives of American soldiers by maintaining a presence there. My resolution would result in a full withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.” Boom, mic drop!

So, this resolution thing that Crane and his pals came up with would actually put an end to the National Emergency declaration that President Bush made back in 2003. You know, the one that said we needed to stick around in Iraq and help them out. But let’s be real, we’ve been there for a while now. After most of our forces left in 2011, we still had thousands of soldiers there to train the Iraqis. And sure, Iraq is still kind of dealing with ISIS and all, but come on, they gotta handle their own stuff now. Plus, we’ve done a lot to help them out already. It’s time for them to take charge of their own country.

Now, some people are all like, “But what about Iran?” Yeah, they’ve been getting involved in Iraq, and that’s not cool. Their militias have been working with the Iraqi forces and that’s just a recipe for trouble. We even had to coordinate airstrikes to help out those militias fighting against ISIS. But guess what? Those same militias have shown that they’re not fans of America. They’ve launched rocket attacks on our peeps and that’s messed up. So, it’s time for us to get out of there before things get even worse.

And let’s not forget about the Iraqi government. It’s not the most stable thing in the world, you know? If things go sideways again, it could create the perfect opportunity for extremist groups to come back and cause chaos. And that’s definitely not a situation we want our troops to be in. So, yeah, Crane and his crew are right on the money with this resolution. It’s time to bring our soldiers home and let Iraq handle their own business. Stay safe, my American heroes!
